Food Access

Food Access

Currently, one in four children in Washington is food insecure; their families can’t be sure where their next meal is coming from.

WithinReach supports local partners to offer the federal Summer Food Service Program and supports families looking for help feeding their families.

Washington State is now the 14th hungriest state in the country. This is why WithinReach works to connect people across the state with food resources that help families be healthy by having access to nutritious food.

We do this using our technology-based and in-person outreach strategies so families can learn about, and apply for Basic Food/SNAP (food stamps), the Summer Food Service Program (summer meals), and the Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Families can connect with these programs and local food resources such as food banks through our hotlines, websites or in-person outreach.
