Making Connections for Health

Our May 14th luncheon was a great success, bringing together friends and supporters to celebrate our work over the last 20 years.  Luncheon speakers shared their beliefs and hopes about improving the health of Washington families. 

To date, we've received over $100,000 in support!

Luncheon Highlights Included:

• A charming performance by Debbie Cavitt and the Leschi Elementary School Choir inspired guests to give from their hearts.
• A letter of endorsement for WithinReach from Senator Jim McDermott was presented and read by one of his staff members.
• A moving speech by volunteer, Laurel Hopkins about the nutritional challenges facing school children in her community.
• Linda Stone received the 2008 Cynthia F. Shurtleff Leadership Award for her decades of work fighting hunger in our state.
• Kathy Carson accepted the 2008 WithinReach Partnership Award on behalf of Public Health – Seattle & King County for years of collaborative efforts to protect and improve the health of Washington residents. 
• Nearly 100 people joined our 20th Anniversary Club, pledging $20/month ($240 annually).

We met our fundraising goal, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors and table captains.
