Full-time IT Database Administrator

General Job Description:

The Database Administrator is responsible for supporting data management systems that reside on FoxPro and MySQL. The Database Administrator provides support in database administration, troubleshooting, application enhancement and maintenance, and management reporting. In addition, the Database Administrator helps with agency-wide planning regarding hardware and software needs/replacement.

The Database Administrator plays a key role in facilitating communication between external IT vendors and internal technical and non-technical program staff. The Database Administrator helps ensure that new technologies implemented by WR are effectively integrated with those technologies already utilized by the agency.

Job Duties:

  1. Obtain, clean and integrate data into the database. Data conversion is a regular part of this process.
  2. Create and integrate management reports and create special queries for use by non-technical program staff.
  3. Troubleshoot issues with database screens and fields, data input routines, and related problems. Work with staff to develop solutions.
  4. Generate/troubleshoot routine (monthly/quarterly) data reports to meet contract monitoring and billing requirements.
  5. Collaborate with ParentHelp123.org team to create IRis database export files for upload to the Resource Finder database, and help coordinate/troubleshoot on-going interface between IRis and the Resource Finder.
  6. Work with other staff to incorporate periodic call center surveys into the IRis. Create data collection fields and queries and new tables when necessary.
  7. Assist Call Center staff with developing and maintaining the process for updating agency and program records.
  8. Implement changes and updates to the call center database structure (including screen modifications and creation of new fields) and maintain documentation on those changes.
  9. Train staff in use of automated report/query mechanisms.
  10. Maintain a database dictionary and reporting protocols.
  11. Act as liaison between contract IT support and WithinReach program staff.
  12. Play a key role in assessing the life expectancy of database systems and planning for replacement/development.
  13. Stay current and explore technological opportunities that may be of interest to WithinReach.

Qualifications:

  • BA, AA or related degree in computer science or closely related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience developing queries in SQL required. Experience in FoxPro, MySQL and PHPAdmin strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with technology issues in the health or human service fields preferred.
  • Passion for working in a non-profit organization.

Salary & Benefits: Salary DOE, $45,000-$60,000.  Full benefits including health/dental/vision insurance, paid time off and retirement plan.
