General Job Description:

WithinReach’s Information and Referral Specialists provide information and referral services to families throughout Washington State, connecting them to health insurance, food assistance programs, and other resources within their communities. Information and Referral Specialists also support WithinReach’s on-line health and food assistance outreach website, www.parenthelp123.org. Support of the ParentHelp123 website can include, but is not limited to, application assistance, technical support, and feedback on website changes.

Other duties associated with the position include community outreach through fairs and conferences.

Qualifications:

• AA Degree or 2 years of equivalent educational background/experience
• Work experience with low-income populations in health care or human service field.
• Knowledge of social service and health programs in Washington State, such as WIC, First Steps, Children’s Medicaid etc., is desirable.

Skills Needed:

• Excellent listening, and Spanish bilingual verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with diverse clientele by telephone.
• Ability to interview callers to obtain information, assess client needs and provide appropriate information and referrals.
• Good time management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to work with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Ability to learn and use computer programs to accomplish tasks and input client data proficiently.
