WithinReach would like to invite you to the next Basic Food Education Forum (BFEF) on Friday, October 30th at the Verdant Health Commission.
BFEF will be a quarterly event, hosted by WithinReach, serving as a platform for Snohomish County agencies enrolling clients in the Basic Food (food stamps) program to meet and network with others about common issues and strategies to promote Basic Food enrollment. In partnership with DSHS, we plan to offer regular updates about the Basic Food program and relay pertinent information regarding any changes to the program or services that may impact providers and/or clients. We encourage anyone involved or interested in Basic Food outreach and enrollment to join us!
Our fall forum will feature some important updates including DSHS changes to the ABAWD waiver, scheduled to take effect at the start of the New Year. We will also host a panel, featuring presentations from several partners who are currently involved in Basic Food outreach efforts within Snohomish County; we’ll have the opportunity to learn about their work, services, and the unique ways in which they are helping to strengthen food security in our community. Additionally, we will be discussing best practices in offering application assistance to clients as well as reviewing use and functionality of Washington Connection in submitting Basic Food applications.
We hope that you will be able to join us! Your participation at BFEF helps to generate a fruitful space for discussion and develop ideas about how to strengthen our Basic Food outreach efforts in the community. Please RSVP with Maricruz Sanchez by October 29th if you plan to attend and feel free to contact her with any additional questions. Attached you will find a copy of our planned agenda. You are welcome and encouraged to forward the invitation to any other prospective attendees.
